Air Pollution

Air pollution is a mixture of natural and man-made substances in the air we breathe. Polluted air also promotes different kinds of diseases: respiratory diseases such as asthma, cardiovascular diseases, changes in lung function, and death). Air pollution is also from the smoke that is coming from jeepney’s, tricycles, factories, and others. What if you ride a bike if you go to a near place instead of riding your car. It will be a good help for us and it decrease the polluted air that we are breathing. Burning plastics also contributes to air pollution and health hazards that cannot be ignored. It is better to bury the the plastics than to burn it. Burning plastics in the backyard contribute to increasing of
the risk of heart disease, aggravate respiratory ailments such as asthma and emphysema, and cause rashes, nausea,
or headaches, damages in the nervous system, kidney or liver, in the reproductive and development system. Cigarettes is also part of this.

Factories and power plants produce large amounts of smoke into the atmosphere which pollutes the air. Eventually the toxic chemicals in smoke fall to the ground, and then they pollute the soil and the water. When the air, soil and water are polluted with toxic chemicals, the chemicals also get absorbed by plants and animals (including humans).

What people can do to help?

-We need to separate plastic waste from other waste. Do not burn any
plastics in your yard or house.

-Buy products that we can reuse.

-Bury the plastics in your backyard. DON’T BURN IT..!

-Instead of using your car, use your bike.

-Recycle

My experience about burning or burying plastics is that instead of burying or burning. We collected all the plastics and plastic bottles in our campus. The plastic bottles is for our Chemistry project, we sold it for recycling. While the plastics, our MAPEH teacher assigned us to collect all the plastics in our campus or even outside the campus. We have to cleaned it so that the smell will fade, after that each group has to cut it into small pieces. It was a requirement in order for us to take the 2nd periodical test. According to our MAPEH teacher they will use it to make mats for our cheerleaders when they have practice. I think this was a good help for our environment.

Go Green with Biking

As a biker, I ride my bike 20 minutes everyday especially at noon. Riding my bike is a great thing because I can smell fresh air and I can really see the place and its beauty. I really love biking because I think it’s a good exercise and I know I can help the environment. Sometimes on weekends my friends and I ride our bicycles and we cruise around our place and sometimes we visit the farms, to smell fresh air. We hate when we go to the city because we really hate the smell of the smokes coming from the jeepneys. Sometimes I encourage some of my classmates to ride their bikes with us instead of taking jeepneys or tricycle.

I also learned that riding a bicycle is a great way to contribute to the preservation of our eco system and environment here on our great planet earth. Many people are concerned with pollution and many other things that damage and dissolve the ozone and cause the atmosphere to be dirty. If we all contributed with one small thing that we can change in our daily living routines to help with the protection of the earth, perhaps we could, as a collective, make a substantial impact for the better.

One way to go green and contribute to the preservation of our environment is sometimes riding a bicycle instead of starting up the car or motorcycle. Driving and operating vehicles is one thing that many countless people do on a daily basis that harms the environment.

To know more about biking.

We should all ride our bikes to help our environment..!
